Course Director - Ed Godek

Glatt Air Techniques, Inc.

Edward J. Godek, Manager of Process Technology, is Glatt Air Techniques’ Equipment and Engineering Division’s prime technical resource for process technology.  Ed is responsible for conducting process training sessions and providing process troubleshooting for Glatt customers.  He also speaks at industry seminars and is currently writing articles for industry publications about fluid bed technology. Ed is also involved with the development and assessment of new process equipment for Glatt.

 

Ed also has over 8 years of experience working in Glatt’s Process Development Laboratory working directly in the area of fluid bed processing and in total over 23 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.  He is involved with a wide range of process operations including wet granulation, blending, compression, and fluid bed and tablet coating for the development of oral solid dose products.  Formerly, as Manager of the Process and Technical Operations group at Glatt, Ed oversaw process scale-up, tech transfer, and process validation for both internal and client projects. Ed has held scientific and management positions in R&D and Manufacturing with ESI Lederle, Purdue Pharma, Pfizer and Barr Laboratories. Ed holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, and a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Manhattan College.

In 1973 Glatt established its first center for contract pharmaceutical solid dosage form development and manufacturing services at its Glatt Air Techniques, Inc. site in Ramsey, NJ, USA. In 1998 Glatt opened a second contract pharmaceutical services operation at its Technology Center on the Glatt Group headquarters campus in Binzen, Germany. Both CRO/CMO centers are FDA approved, while the Binzen site holds an additional EU approval.
